Let's Groove
I love to groove on music, so I created character design and animation for my favorite songs as a personal project.
These are based on different language songs until now i have worked on english and japanese only. There are two sets of characters and styles I have approached. One focused on the animation and quirkiness of the group performers - Easy Music Group and another focuses on the Region of the song and aesthetics - Music Girl.
Easy Music Group
The Easy Music Group consists of one lead signer and group of supporters for background and chorus that sing in all voices irrespective of gender. The character design is quirky and full of swag, and it breaks gender stereotypes as none of the characters have specific gender look and can lipsnc anyone's voice.
The animation and visual style is kept simple, with only lines and black and white colors. This makes the animation faster and more fluid, highlighting animation rather than the colors or other aspects of the visuals.
Music Girl
The Music Girl is a character that transforms her looks based on the origin of the song. Current songs are Japanese songs. So the Music Girl has a Japanese Pop Culture look with bangs, geta like slippers, and a kimono inspired jacket. The visuals for the Music Girl are bold and vibrant, which makes them eye-catching. The colors also represent the fluid and vibrant nature of music.
There are two styles of animation for this. One is specifc frame based just grooving on the music and second with more lyrics based and motion packed similar to the group.
These are the final videos of Japanese language song for the Music Girl and two English language songs for the easy music group.
